Iris is a senior interested in electrical engineering. She is a part of Future Problem Solvers, Girls Who Code, and likes to dance. In her free time, she enjoys doing puzzles and listening to music. She hopes to increase student engagement and offer a summer camp or tutoring program for younger students!

Michael is a senior interested in pursuing a career in medicine or chemical engineering. In his free time he likes to read, run, and watch a good rom-com. He hopes to learn more about the engineering workforce and spread awareness about the chapter and all the opportunities there are in engineering.

Manning Lu

Manning is a junior interested in Computer Science. He does Science Olympiad and also cross country and track. He looks forward to learning more in depth how the industry works and trying to help CES grow more with the Solon School District.

William Hu

William is a junior interested in Chemistry and Engineering. He loves to design and build personal and useful projects, ranging from wood to 3D printing, and enjoys reading and playing chess. He hopes to learn more about the careers of professionals in various STEM fields, and establish a greater understanding of engineering as a whole.

Leilanie Premkumar

Leilanie is a sophomore interested in pursuing Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering. She is the captain of my robotics team, and was part of the Solon Science Olympiad State team as an alternate. She also plays the flute. She wants to learn how to be more engaging towards others and enhance her speaking skills.

As an advisor of the CES Student Chapter, I hope to inspire them to explore different areas of engineering and be there to guide them whenever they face challenges. My goal is to help them grow with confidence, curiosity, and a strong passion for engineering. I also aim to serve as a strong bridge between CES and the students—helping connect them with resources, opportunities, and industry perspectives.

What advice do you have for the student members of the CES student chapter?

Stay curious and seek out every chance to get hands on experience.

With the support of CES, I hope we can provide students with more opportunities to explore the diverse field of engineering and discover how it

encompasses both traditional and emerging technologies. My hope is that every student will find something that inspires their curiosity and

encourages them to pursue their interests in engineering

I hold a Ph.D. in Physics and currently work on the development of precision optical coatings for applications in aerospace, displays, medical optics, and other advanced technologies. I also have more than ten years of experience working with optical, electron, and scanning probe microscopes in university research facilities.

What advice do you have for the student members of the CES student chapter?

Don't be afraid to fail; be afraid of never trying.
