Scott Skinner
President & Executive Director of the North Coast Waterfront Development Corporation
Scott Skinner was appointed as the President and Executive Director of the North Coast Waterfront Development Corporation in 2024. The NCWDC is an independent nonprofit organization charged with transforming Cleveland’s lakefront into a world class destination that spurs regional economic development, while ensuring equitable access to all Northeast Ohioans. In his role, Scott his responsible for executing on the Mayor’s lakefront Master Plan, working with existing lakefront stakeholders, and leading efforts to across all facets of this complicated project.
Prior to leading the NCWDC, Skinner spent six years as Vice President of Development with The NRP Group, leading NRP’s development efforts, underwriting, due diligence, and political approvals across the Midwest. Scott also led NRP’s federal advocacy work in Washington DC. Prior to NRP, Scott served as a writer for the San Francisco Chronicle, a Peace Corps volunteer in the country of Georgia, and a corporate fundraiser for a large nonprofit organization in Washington DC.
Born and raised in northern California, Scott earned a bachelor’s degree in English from San Jose State University and an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.
Scott is very involved in the Cleveland community; he serves on the Board of Neighborhood Family Practice and The May Dugan Center, New Village Capital, and Global Cleveland. He resides in the Ohio City neighborhood of Cleveland with his wife and two young children.
