Michael Janes is Head of Operations at Galvanix, a Cleveland-based metals technology company commercializing a breakthrough rare earth metal-making process developed at Case Western Reserve University. Galvanix spun out of a CWRU research lab to address a strategic gap in U.S. rare earth element and magnet supply chains by enabling domestic, scalable metallization. Michael joined the company in April 2025 after a nine-year career in the U.S. Army as an Apache helicopter aviator and commander, including a combat deployment to Iraq and Syria. He holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and an MS in Engineering Management from Missouri University of Science and Technology. His work focuses on converting deep-tech research into reliable, Made-in-America industrial capability with real national and economic impact.
