Responsible for design of new and replacement gears, gear assemblies and drives.


Primary Responsibilities
• Perform gear tooth geometry analysis , materials and process selection, shaft deflection
• Analysis, bearing life analysis and selection, gear weldment analysis, gear drive layout
• Utilizing 3-D CAD software.
• Establish assembly and testing requirements.
• Work with engineering technicians as required for make per sample products.
• Review and approve drawings from designers and other engineers for release to the shop.
• Meet scheduled release of material requisitions and part designs and record status in Baan.
• Support shop floor and assembly when questions or issues arise.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 2-5 years working experience with machine design within the gearing industry
• Computer literate with Microsoft Office applications, 3-D Modeling experience (Solid
• Works), BaaN (ERP System) or similar and some form of document control software
• (EPDM) experiences a plus
• Ability to work in a TEAM environment and also as a solo player
• Exhibit good stewardship of design and costs to meet goals and expectations
• Very good communicator – both written and verbally
• Creative thinker and problem solver
• Capable of managing multiple priorities and tasks
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Ability to perform essential functions and requirements of the job
• Travel as required

R.E. Warner is seeking Mechanical/Piping Designer to support projects across our six markets, which include the Metals, Auto & Manufacturing, Power, Government, Chemical Process, and Commercial & Institutional sectors. The individual in this role will work as part of a multi-discipline team providing clients with professional design services for a wide variety of projects. Candidates must have experience designing and drafting process and utility piping systems.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
-Layout and routing of complex process and utility piping systems
-Selection and design of pipe supports
-Preparation of piping plans, sections, details and isometrics
-Performance of field surveys to obtain accurate measurements independently
-Development of material specifications, take offs and cost estimates

-Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology
-Minimum of five years of progressive experience in design and drafting of process and utility piping systems
-Must be proficient in AutoCAD 2010
-Experience in AutoCAD 3D and/or SolidWorks a plus.
-Must have previous experience performing design work listed above under “Primary Duties and Responsibilities”

Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.


Perform detailed analysis relative to machine capacities, manufacturability of new and existing products, capital equipment planning and financial justification
• Lead and/or participate in activities relevant to the Lean Environment. Included are 5 S's, Kaizens, Value Stream Mapping and utilizing Six Sigma practices.
• Establish or revise production standards, workflow methods, layout and setup of equipment and machinery
• Work with design engineering, evaluating new projects to ensure all details are complete and the best methods for manufacturing are used.
• Determine and ensure best practices in tooling design and usage
• Determine and ensure best practices in fixture design and usage
• Perform NC and CNC programming functions as necessary
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
• Advanced degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Proven
• Experience in a heavy manufacturing environment
• Strong background in Lean Environment.
• 2D/3D CAD experience, preferably with Solidworks
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Must be proficient in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office applications and ERP system
• Proven communication and leadership skills
• Excellent understanding of machine tool capabilities
• Ability to perform the essential functions and requirements of the job.
