The Cleveland Engineering Society

Celebrates

National Engineers Week!

February 21 - 27, 2021

Learn · Connect · Lead

The Cleveland Engineering Society’s enduring motto over our 141-year history is Learn · Connect · Lead. As we commemorate National Engineers Week, I would like to reflect upon the importance of Learn as a priority and value proposition for our Society.

Engineering is a challenging and rigorous profession. To become an engineer, one must successfully complete years of intense study in advanced mathematics, science, and the engineering disciplines. But the learning does not stop with the award of an engineering degree. To maintain proficiency and stay at the top the profession, one must commit to lifelong learning. A good engineer must learn about all the new technologies, techniques, and practices that are constantly being applied in engineering and engineering management. Learning is at the heart of being an effective engineer. Those who learn through self study, formal education and training, practical experience, and engagement with their fellow engineers are positioned for success. Today’s accelerating pace of technological development makes continuous learning even more important for a modern engineer. The Cleveland Engineering Society is committed to be a learning asset for engineers to solve problems, stay current, advance their careers, and prepare for the future of their profession.

The Society provides numerous opportunities for engineers to learn. The State of Ohio requires registered Professional Engineers to earn at least 30 hours of Continuing Professional Development credits every two years to maintain their currency. Professional Engineers can earn these credits at our conferences, leadership lectures and industry tours. Our networking events enable diverse engineering professionals and students to interact and learn from each other in a relaxed social setting. Engineers can bring their challenges and problems to our roundtables where they find solutions and learn from our extensive engineering network. By sharing their extensive experience, best practices, and lessons learned from their careers, the members of the Cleveland Engineering Society help each other succeed and prepare the next generation of Cleveland’s engineers to achieve excellence in their profession.

Learn · Connect · Lead. Join and participate in The Cleveland Engineering Society to learn and be the best engineer you can be.
