Message from CES President, Dr. Michael Heil

Members of the Cleveland Engineering Society,

First and foremost, I would like to thank you for your continued membership in our Society. As one of our country’s first engineering societies, CES has proudly served our region’s engineers and technical professionals for over 140 years. We look forward to continuing that service well into the future.

We have faced unprecedented challenges this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Shortly after our CES Cleveland Cavaliers game event (see attached photo) and tour of Rocket Mortgage Field House, the State of Ohio imposed a shutdown order and we were unable to proceed with our planned events for 2020. We are hopeful that the pandemic will be defeated and we will be able to resume our normal schedule of in-person events in 2021. As the state begins to reopen this year, we are planning additional events and webinars that can be conducted virtually or In-person in accordance with state restrictions. We will keep you informed of these upcoming events and look forward to your participation.

CES has overcome challenging times in the past and I am confident that we will overcome the challenges imposed by the current pandemic. I sincerely appreciate your continued membership and support of CES and welcome your inputs and ideas as we strive to build a better Society and return value to our members.

Best regards,

Mike Heil President, CES Board of Directors
