Call for Presentations

The Cleveland Engineering Society (CES) is pleased to invite you to participate in the 68th Annual Design and Construction Conference on Friday, March 27, 2020. This conference attracts 300-400 professionals from the design and construction industry to learn about the latest projects, applications, case studies and best practices pertaining to the design and construction industry. This is a unique opportunity to participate in the professional development of your colleagues, share your expertise and be recognized as an industry leader.

CES encourages presentation outline/abstract submissions from the design, consultant, contractor, owner, vendor and service provider perspective. The conference theme is Sustaining the Region Through Design, Engineering and Construction. We are seeking an array of presentation topics that may fit within one of the following areas of focus: Infrastructure/Construction; Facilities; Technology; and Environmental. Presentations may cover a broad spectrum of issues facing our industry, from Asset Management, Development, Owner Issues, Vendor Issues, Changing Trends, New Technologies, Future Opportunities, Project Case Studies, Legal Issues / Legislation and Ethics among others.

The conference will be held at LaCentre Conference and Banquet Facility in Westlake, Ohio. The conference begins at 8:00am and concludes at 4:00pm. One hour is allotted for each presentation including time for Q&A.

Presentation Submission Requirements
Please follow the instructions outlined below to ensure that your abstract is considered.
1) List the speaker’s name(s), title, company, complete address, phone, and e-mail address.
2) Include a brief bio for each speaker.
3) Provide the title of the abstract. Please make the title of your presentation no more than 10 words.
4) Write three concise learning objectives for your presentation indicating the knowledge participants will gain. Attendees will earn CPD credit for attending this presentation.
5) Write a clear, concise 75-100-word abstract for potential inclusion in the conference program. If selected a more detailed abstract may be required for publication.
6) Based on the descriptions provided in this Call for Papers, please indicate the topic(s) that your presentation addresses.
7) Indicate the area of focus for which your presentation would be most appropriate: Infrastructure/Construction; Facilities; Technology; and Environmental.
8) Indicate your preference for a morning or afternoon presentation time slot.
Presentation abstracts may be submitted until Friday, December 6; however, preference will be given to those received by Friday, November 15.
