Industry Tour at NASA Glenn Research Center

The Cleveland Engineering Society (CES) has been working hard to revitalize our Industry Tours program over the past year. Our third Industry Tour since re-inception was at NASA Glenn Research Center on April 20, 2023. We would like to thank NASA Glenn for hosting an amazing guided tour of some of their world-class leading aerospace research and test facilities.

Our CES members and guests visited the Aero-Acoustic Propulsion Lab, Electric Propulsion and Power Lab, Simulated Lunar Operations (SLOPE) Lab, Graphics and Visualization (GVIS) Lab and Zero-G Research Facility. Our group had an interactive and educational tour with Virtual Reality immersive experiences, inspecting a spacecraft electric propulsion test chamber and a 432-foot drop tower that provides test articles a near-weightless environment for 5.18 seconds, and learning about the testing environments for aircraft noise reduction and performance and for tractive performance of roving vehicles on simulated Lunar and Martian terrain.

Our Industry Tours promote greater Cleveland area businesses, organizations and entities in the engineering, construction, manufacturing, and technology fields and provide technical insight and instruction to our members and attendees.  Attendees may earn continuing education credits through participation in our tours and events.
