The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD) was established in 1972 to convey and treat wastewater in Cleveland and surrounding communities. As a leader in wastewater management, the NEORSD has an operating budget of over $90 million dollars, a capital budget of over $100 million dollars, and an employee population of more than 600. The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District is searching for a Senior Construction Supervisor with an Electrical Engineering discipline to fill an immediate opening.

Please note a pre-employment and/or promotional physical examination will be required. Components of the physical examination may include but will not be limited to a substance test, hearing and vision screening, various blood tests, an OSHA respirator questionnaire, and chest X-ray. Candidates must not have facial hair that would impede the use of breathing apparatus and must not have tendencies toward claustrophobia or acrophobia.

The Senior Construction Supervisor assists Project Managers on assigned projects and acts as a construction resource to support and/or manage the construction phase of a project. The Senior Construction Supervisor is a key resource to ensure the construction phase of a project meets the project goals, provides lead construction support for up to two (2) projects at a time, and is functionally responsible for the construction support related to each project from within the department and cross functions throughout the District. The Senior Construction Supervisor performs other duties of a similar nature as may be required.

The successful candidate must have an Associates degree in Engineering (Electrical) or a technical related field, or equivalent. Candidate must have knowledge of engineering principles in the wastewater and/or stormwater industry, including applicable methods, tools, and software, and knowledge of current environmental laws. Bachelors degree in Engineering or a technical related field preferred. Ten (10) years of experience in construction management, which must include experience analyzing data and processes, making recommendations, and gaining input/agreement within an organization is required. Candidate must be able to demonstrate experience in large civil public works construction. The successful candidates must possess strong technical engineering, leadership and motivation, team building, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, attention to detail, the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and assignments and demonstrate strong organizational skills in a fast-paced work environment. Written, verbal, and presentation skills are necessary to be effective, in addition to proficiency with Microsoft Office software such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Candidates must possess a valid state of Ohio driver’s license with a driving record in accordance with the District’s acceptable guidelines, and must be able to spend up to 60% of time outdoors on construction sites and in potentially contaminated, noisy, dirty, dark, and/or restricted space wearing eye and ear protection, and breathing apparatus.

Salary Range: $68,283 - $85,353 annually
