Summary

We depend on you to make sure our projects are on time and cost effective. You refine project scopes with process owners/requestors. You research costs, recommend new equipment, keep projects on time and within budgets. From beginning to end, you make sure our projects are functionally and financially successful.


REQUIRED

•B.S. degree in chemical engineering or mechanical engineering with a strong chemical process background.
•3 to 5 years experience in the chemical field.
•Capital project engineering experience.
•Good understanding of the design and operation of stationary equipment (pressure vessels, storage tanks, piping systems, relief devices), along with rotating equipment (centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, compressors)
•Capability to lead problem solving teams
•Ability to make a positive impact in a team environment
•Prior experience as a capital project leader
•Familiarity with all rotating equipment and specifications
•Good communication (both verbal and written) and organizational skills
•Ability to perform design calculations for fluid flow, heat transfer, mass transfer and relief devices.
•Be a self-starter
•Familiarity with environmental, health, and safety regulations
•Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office
•Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
•Ability to work projects to completion.

CONSIDERED A PLUS

•Chemical plant experience
•SAP experience
•Knowledge of process safety management
•Experience with DCS and automation methods/techniques
•Knowledge of applicable codes: NFPA, ASME, API, OBBC

Description

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

•Work to resolve and refine the project scope and user requirements with process owner/requestor.
•Develop Process and Instrument Diagrams.
•Perform material and energy balances on batch and continuous reactive systems.
•Estimate equipment, piping, and other mechanical components of project cost.
•Request input from instrument and electrical groups for respective cost portions.
•Assemble and publish cost estimate for capital approval.
•Perform design calculations as needed for process related changes.
•Participate in PHA process as needed.
•Recommend and procure new equipment.
•Provide work packages to initiate field work construction and to provide construction assistance as needed throughout the project.
•Take responsibility for project timeliness and budgets.
•Participate in the turnover/project closure process and asset creation efforts.
