Divisions and Committees
CES members may join one or more divisions or committees. Involvement in a CES committee or division has many benefits.
- Connect with colleagues and practice leadership skills.
- Share experience, knowledge and contacts to help keep CES vital and pertinent.
- Team with others to plan conferences, programs, educational and social events.
- Meet with peers for collegial discussions and share best practices.
- Hone management skills by chairing a group.
- Earn Continuing Professional Development hours.
Divisions
Members can become involved in a special interest group, or CES Division. Divisions work on various programs and events presented for the benefit of the CES members of that particular division.
Developing Professionals Division Offers networking and service opportunities for engineering and technology professionals who are 40 and younger. Chair – Please contact CES at admin@cesnet.org to get involved in this division.
Environmental Division Stimulates the exchange of information on environmental issues with emphasis on technological developments, related legislation and regulations. Coordinates periodic tours. Chair – Please contact CES at admin@cesnet.org to get involved in this division.

Committees
The Cleveland Engineering Society’s general planning is performed by members participating on one or more of the following committees, working closely with the CES staff.
3Eforum: energy+environment+engineering Coordinates a forum for industry professionals to meet and exchange ideas on relevant and newsworthy topics in the fast-changing areas of energy, the environment and related engineering innovations. Engineering a More Connected Community (E=MC˛) Committee Responsible for developing community outreach programs and connecting CES with schools, universities and community organizations to encourage engineering/technology as a profession. Marketing & Membership Development Committee Responsible for developing strategies to increase, maintain, and diversify membership in both individual and corporate categories. Also responsible for developing a marketing and public relations plan, enhancing the internal and external image of the organization and assisting in the marketing of CES programs and events. PlanninG Committees
These committees are specific to CES's award-winning conferences and annual golf outing fundraiser. They work closely with the CES staff.
Design & Construction ConferenCe Planning Committee Works closely with CES staff and co-sponsoring organizations to present CES’s Annual Spring Design and Construction Conference. Committee members determine conference theme, help secure speakers as well as target conference sponsors and exhibitors. This annual conference provides networking and educational opportunities for the area’s key design and construction players from the public and private sectors—engineers, architects, developers, planners, investors, owners, contractors, officials and other professionals. Design & Construction ConferenCe Awards Nomination Committee Reviews submitted nominations for CES’s Annual Design and Construction Hall of Fame Awards and Excellence in Design Awards. Committee members evaluate nominees, tour projects and vote to select winners. Award winners are honored at the Annual Design and Construction Conference.
